Tony Aspler
FOUNDER
In February 2000, Tony co-founded the foundation with Arlene Willis (who now runs Grapes for Humanity Global). He took over as President from Ms. Willis in 2008.
His day job is writing about wine, a career that now spans nearly 40 years. He was the wine columnist for The Toronto Star for 21 years and has authored seventeen books on wine and food, including 'The Wine Atlas of Canada,' 'Vintage Canada', 'The Wine Lover's Companion', 'The Wine Lover Cooks' and 'Travels With My Corkscrew'. Tony’s latest book is, 'Tony Aspler’s Cellar Book'. In December 2007,
Tony was awarded the Order of Canada, the Queen’s Jubilee Medal (2012), the same year he was inducted into the New York Media Wine Writers Hall of Fame.
