Raising The Village
We form clusters of last-mile communities that have existing economic and social relationships, live in geographic proximity, and share key infrastructure. The cluster model leverages these relationships into groups with an average size of 8 villages and a shared total population of 5,000. This creates wholesale coverage and impactful economic cooperation. We focus on 3 key areas:
-
Removing immediate barriers to livelihoods.
-
Developing diverse income generating projects.
-
Building local capacity and engagement to continue progress.

WHAT THEY DO:
The GFH supported the Nyarurambi Cluster. Overall Cluster Summary In June 2019, Raising The Village (RTV) launched its 2019 Cycle 2 Program Clusters, consisting of 30,314 beneficiaries across 49 villages. Nine of these villages were grouped within the Nyarurambi cluster which is in the process of completing its 6 months implementation phase. The implementation phase sees a series of trainings and services conducted following RTV’s approach in: agriculture, financial literacy training (FLT), health outreaches (HORs), livestock, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). RTV’s implementation team works closely with local government officers and community members to ensure a transfer of knowledge and skills from the trainings into adopted practices.
